Astragal - A "T-cover" strip that helps to eliminate light gaps between LR panel types.
Aluminum Strip - A long aluminum piece screwed to the wall, used to simplify installation for the four-sided Deco Frame.
Bifold/Bypass track
Café Style shutters - Covers lower portion of the window, but can be made at any height.

Decorative Sill - A decorative trim piece installed at the bottom of the window for an added custom look.
Divider Rail - A rail that adds strength to the panel and divides the panel in to two horizontal sections in which louvers operate independently of each other. (Required for Woodlore panels over 64" height and Sussex & Normandy panels over 72")
Double Hung - Two independently operated panels, one mounted on top of the other.
Frame - the portion of a shutter unit that goes around panels.
Frame Extensions - used to build out the back of the frame to clear operating louvers from obstructions such as mullion bars and window cranks (handles).
Hidden tilt bar - Tilt bar is "hidden" in back of panel, available on Woodlore & Sussex only.

Hinges - the hardware piece used to attach panels to frames.
Insert strip - A trim inserted into certain frames to cover the screws.
Inside mount - A shutter mounted inside of the window case.
Louvers - The movable blades within the panel.
Outside mount - A shutter mounted outside of the window case.
Panel - The part of the shutter made up by a set of louvers framed by two rails and two stiles.
Rabbet Stile - Special profile on the stiles to allow panels to overlap. Helps prevent light penetration between panels.
Rails - Top and bottom solid part of the panel.
Raised Panels - Solid panel inserts instead of louvers.
Reveal - The clearance between the panel and inside of frame.
Stiles - Vertical solid part of panel to which louvers are anchored.
Substile/Center Stile - an additional stile, which divides the width of the panel into two vertical sections. Available only for Bypass track shutters.
Tension Adjuster - An adjustment screw to adjust tension of louvers.

Tilt Rod - A vertical bar located on the front of the panels to open and close the louvers.
T-Post - A vertical post which divides windows in to two sections. (Used in wider shutters)
Track - A metal hardware to support frames from overhead in Bypass and Bifold installation.
Window Depth - The distance from the surface of the wall to the closest part of the window (Example: latch, crank, screen, and frame).
